So Far, Less Than 100 Unaccompanied Immigrant Children Have Arrived in State

Whether citizens like it or not, Michigan will be at least the temporary home for some of the unaccompanied immigrant children have who have crossed the Mexican border into the U.S.

Eric Lawrence and Paul Egan of the Detroit Free Press report that at this point, Gov. Rick Snyder estimates there are few than 100 children who have arrived in the state. 

Bay City and Farmington Hills are among the communities that will temporarily house the children, the Freep reports. Gov. Snyder said that he doesn't expect the influx of immigrants to impact the state's economy.
