Wednesday, 10 a.m.: Final tallies show that Dave Trott had 66% of the vote compared to Kerry Bentivolio's 34%. John Conyers had 74% percent compared to Rev. Horace Sheffield's 26%. The Free Press reported that with 84% of the vote in, Debbie Dingell led her opponent Ypsilanti lawyer Ray Mullins 78%-22% for her husband's congressional seat.

Tuesday night article:

Veteran Congressman John Conyers easily fended off a primary challenge from Rev. Horace Sheffield, and Debbie Dingell rode to victory in her bid for her husband's 12th Congressional seat, the Detroit News reports.

Dave Trott defeated U.S. Rep. Kerry Bentivolio in Michigan’s 11th House.

In all three closely watched races, there were no real surprises. If any of the races, perhaps Conyers seemed the most questionable.

There were questions as to whether Conyers had served too long and had lost his edge.
