Fans of the Barnes & Noble in downtown Royal Oak -- and there were plenty -- aren't likely to be very happy to know their beloved, former hangout will house a Buffalo Wild Wings. The cops aren't too wild about it either.

The bookstore at Main Street and Fifth Avenue closed in April. Last year, Vectorform, a software company, announced it was moving its headquarters into the second floor of the Barnes & Noble store space, WXYZ reports.

The station reports that Monday night the Royal Oak City Commission approved the transfer of a liquor license for Buffalo Wild Wings, which is slated to move into the first floor of the building.

WXYZ reports that Royal Oak Police Chief Corrigan O'Donohue opposed Buffalo Wild Wings, saying his department did not have the manpower to deal with the number of customers there, particularly the teens.

Opposition during the public comment section of Monday night's meeting also came from the neighboring SkyLofts Royal Oak.

The company says it will make more than 80 percent of its money from food.
