Jewish Organization Sells 'Latrina' T-shirts To Benefit Flood Victims

August 22, 2014, 1:50 PM

It's not the kind of T-shirt you want to wear at the dinner table, that is, unless you have a very strong stomach.

The Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit is selling T-shirts that say “I survived Latrina! August 11, 2014” for $20 each, Zlati Meyer of the Detroit Free Press reports. The money will go to help storm victims.

The shirts feature a picture of a gross toilet on the front and a list of affected cities on the back — Berkley, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Warren, Royal Oak, Southfield and Royal Oak (again).

The shirt is the brainchild of Huntington Woods resident Lesley Zwick, the paper says. The name "Latrina"  is derived from latrine and Katrina.
