Former Cass Tech High School quarterback Jayru Campbell was detained Friday, accused of choking a female student, just hours after he was released from jail, Dennis Kraniak reports on Fox 2.
WDIV-TV identified the woman as Campbell's girlfriend.
Campbell, a star player who was heavily recruited, was released from jail earlier in the day after serving a 60-day sentence for body-slaming a Cass Tech security guard in January.
Sources tell Fox 2 that Campbell is accused of choking a female during a football game at Cass Tech High School this afternoon. He is being detained by Detroit Public School Police.
These details come from a Friday evening Facebook post at a community group by Police Officer by Barton Coleman of the 8th Precinct in Nothwest Detroit:
He got out today went to school and fought his girlfriend. He is currently in the Mound Detroit lock-up.
