BoxAlarmDetroit has posted a dramatic., nearly seven-minute video that shows The Stanhope, a grand old Chicago Boulevard apartment building fire Friday that illustrates two of Detroit's ongoing problems: abandoned building fires and low water pressure, which hinders the work of fire crews.
The fire went to two alarms and eventually extended to the structure next door. The fire was brought mostly under control within two hours, though it continued to flare up for the rest of the night. The Stanhope was a total loss.
