Michigan State Police raided the home on Tuesday afternoon of Augusta Township Clerk Kathy Giszczak, outside of Ann Arbor, as part of an ongoing probe into allegations of missing money at the township hall.

"They are on a fact-finding mission," Township Trustee Ira Todd told Deadline Detroit.

A message was left on Giszczak's phone Tuesday evening. She  did not immediate return the call for comment.

The raid was the second this month. Earlier this month, state police raided the Augusta Township Hall as part of the probe.

Todd, a member of the township Forensic Audit Committee, told Deadline Detroit after the first raid on Oct. 6 that that he had made a criminal complaint with the State Police after discovering for months that township funds were unaccounted for.

Todd, who is also a Detroit Police investigator, said citizens had suspected that money had been missing for years.

"Citizens came to me right after I got elected and claimed there was $1.2 million missing," Todd said earlier this month.

Todd said Tuesday that citizens have been commending the Township Board for "creating an audit committee that is taking the township finances seriously."

Todd said there are vendors who are complaining about not getting paid, all at a time when township money is missing.
