October 27, 2014, 6:26 PM

We can't really say it has been a fun ride. But it's certainly been interesting, and generated a lot attention around the world.

Now, it's finally over.

Nathan Bomey, Matt Helms and Joe Guillen of the Detroit Free Press report that the historic hearings on whether a federal judge will approve Detroit's bid to exit the nation's largest-ever bankruptcy came to an end Monday evening.

A ruling by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes is set for Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.

"We think we made our case and we met our burden," Detroit emergency manager Kevyn Orr said outside court, according to the Freep.
