Tigers Sign Joakim Soria for 2015: Should We Smile or Cry?

Are we headed for another headache of a season in 2015 with our bullpen?

Well, let's see. Joe Nathan is returning.

And now we learn from Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports  that the team is exercising its contract option for reliever Joakim Soria.

Soria, 30, will make $7 million in 2015.

Excuse me for not getting excited and wanting to pop some champagne corks. But his performance in the playoffs was downright painful. Can he still be a star in 2015?

It's possible.

But he won't get the benefit of the doubt from the fans at the outset. He'll have to work his into their hearts.

The Freep writes:

He figures to fill the eighth-inning setup role with the Tigers, at least at the outset of next season. General manager Dave Dombrowski said in his end-of-the-season news conference that he expects Joe Nathan to start next year as the team's closer.
