You might recall that Hayley Turner, 18, faked her abduction in Monroe County on August 7.

On Thursday, Monroe Circuit Court Judge Daniel White sentenced her to three years probation, one day in jail time served and 29 days community service, Taryn Asher of Fox 2 reports. She also owes more than $15,000 in restitution, reimbursing manpower wasted during those frantic 16 hours.

But interestingly, Fox 2 notes, Turner refused to apologize for the whole ordeal. The station reports that she has some mental health issues.

Fox 2 reports that the judge tried to make her realize the seriousness of what she did.

"Anything you want to say for yourself," the judge asked Turner.

"No your honor," she said.

"This is a serious charge," White said. "I don't know if this was a cry for help, but I can tell you it was crying wolf."

In August, a woman called police claiming she was on the phone with Turner, who claimed a man with a gun was following her,Fox 2 reports.

Turner's car was found still running on the side of a road in Bedford Township.

Authorities launched a massive search, and the next day received a call saying that Turner had escaped a moving car and was found half-dressed walking down the street in Ecorse.

Investigators quickly figured out it was a farce.
