Some how this doesn't sound too safe: a trucker watching a movie while tooling down the freeway.

Trevor Wilhelm of the Windsor Star writes that a Windsor trucker faces a $280 fine for allegedly watching a movie while traveling down HIghway 401.

The paper reported that another driver spotted the trucker and called police.

“With the heightened awareness surrounding the distracted driving laws it is shocking to see these types of offenses,” Acting Insp. Rob Kobayashi with Northumberland OPP told the Windsor Star. “I am pleased to see a community member taking the time to alert us to these poor driving behaviours. It is this very engagement that we all need to have to make our highways and communities a safer place.”

Police got the call Wednesday at 1 a.m. and stopped the driver near Theatre Road in Hamilton Township.
