The Many Roles of Robert Davis: This Time He's a Convicted Felon Going Off to Prison

Sometimes it's hard to tell who Robert Davis is. He's a crusader against injustice and corruption. He's a union activist.

But on Thursday in U.S. District Court in downtown Detroit it was clear he was a convicted felon heading off to prison.

Heather Catallo of WYYZ reports that the former president of the Highland Park School Board, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for embezzling about $200,000 from the school district.

Davis had asked U.S. District Judge Art Tarnow for probation. But Tarnow saw fit for Davis to do some time.

“It’s public property that you took – you took it from a system that couldn’t afford it," Tarnow said.
