Humor Is How Detroit Bus Company Rolls in Comic-Style Brochure

January 14, 2015, 3:12 PM

Although "hilarious" is a click-bait word, sometimes it's also the most accurate choice for a headline.

That's true for a Metro Times blog post on "the Detroit Bus Company's hilarious guide to Detroit."

The tour and charter company led by Andy Didorosi, 28, promotes itself to visitors with six comic-like panels spoofing Detroit fears and myths. "It's hard to get straight facts on our complicated little town," the back cover says. "Take this handy illustrated guide with you so you can explain to others that it's not all bad. . . . Hell, you might even want to live here."

Lee DeVito writes in his post:

Titled "We're Not Sorry — Detroit and You: An Informative Guide," the brochures cheekily counter popular depictions of Detroit as a lawless, wild dog-ridden food desert.

We've been passing them around the office, but we had to ask Didorosi if we could share them with our readers as well, to which he graciously obliged.

The copyrighted illustrations by Sean Bieri about dining, housing, civic life, wild life and other topics are at the Read More link below if you haven't grabbed the brochure at a bar, restaurant or coffee shop.
