Max Scherzer's seven-year deal with the Washington Nationals is worth $210 million, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports via Twitter.
The right-hander will receive $15 million per year for 14 years in an agreement deferring half of his income beyond the on-field commitment. .
So, in the end, Scherzer gets $66M more from #Nationals than #Tigers offered. Present-day value of $210M will be lower due to deferrals.

Scherzer will join ex-Tigers teammate Doug Fister.
Some reports speculated that the contract could be worth as much as $200 million. Scherzer had rejected the Tigers' offer of a six-year, $144 million contract.
Tony Paul of The Detroit News has Tigers manager Brad Ausmus' reaction late Sunday:
