Tayshaun Prince, an ex-Piston who suddenly became a current Piston, wasn't so happy to learn last week that the Boston Celtics had traded him to Detroit.

In fact, he was "pissed off," reports Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press. He said he felt blindsided.

Ellis writes:

He didn't specify a name in his first comments to the Detroit media, but one can infer he thinks Celtics general manager Danny Ainge miscommunicated his intentions.

Prince indicated he thought the Celtics were going to retain him and then maybe broach a buyout before the March 1 playoff eligibility waiver deadline.

"Me and Danny had several conversations, and like I said before, all options were on the table because I knew they were trying to go young," Prince said of the Celtics. "I thought no trade was going to happen at all. I was going to be in Boston and see what happened, whether the buyout was going to happen or not. The buyout wasn't 100%.
