Stephen Henderson, a familiar face and voice of the Detroit Free Press, has been named the host of WDET-101.9 FM's "Detroit Today" morning talk show, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

Henderson, a Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial page editor at the Freep, will stay on at the paper and add the radio gig to his work duties, Bill Shea of Crain's reports.

He will start hosting the show on March 16 from 9 to 10 a.m. weekdays, Crain's reports.

“I’m really excited to join WDET as host of Detroit Today,” Henderson said in a statement. “I've been a listener since I was a kid, and that listening will be key to bringing my brand of civil discourse and inquiry to the air with listeners all over the metro area and the state.”

Henderson replaces Craig Fahle, who left the station to work for the city of Detroit.
