The University of Michigan's chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu is history.

Emma Kerr of the Michigan Daily reports that the international board has revoked the charter and is forcing members to move out of the frat house by May 3 as result of the extensive damage students did at the Treetops Resort in Gaylord in January.

The paper writes that current University chapter members will be placed on alumni status, which means they can't affiliate with another chapter, do not have the rights associated with undergraduate membership and are ineligible for fraternity tuition grants.

A press release from the frat's national headquarters said the students' behavior violated the organizations values and standards of conduct.
