Detroit has made progress when it comes to removing abandoned buildings.
But that progress could be in jeopardy.
Todd Spangler of the Detroit Free Press writes:
With federal funding for Detroit's aggressive blight program expected to be exhausted by fall, Mayor Mike Duggan is scouring the Obama administration's agencies in hopes of finding even more to keep the city's abundant stockpile of vacant buildings coming down.
He may have his work cut out for him.
"I've got three to four months to solve this," he told the Free Press exclusively during a visit last week to Washington.
