The Tampa Bay Lightning outshot the Detroit Red Wings 44-14, and seemed to have control of the game, but top-notch goal tending by Detroit's Petr Mrazek and some breaks and impressive goals helped the Wings steal one Thursday night 3-2.
The Wings managed to keep Tampa Bay scoreless during seven power plays. And the Wing's Luke Glendening scored a very impressive goal in the third period while the Wings were shorthanded, giving the Wings a 3-1 advantage.
The Lightning came back to score and pulled the goalie in the end, but it wasn't enough.
The Wings got a break Thursday night.
It's not likely they'll be so lucky next time if they don't play better against the favored Tampa Bay team.
