Kroger to Buy 7 of Hiller's Markets

Kroger of Michigan is buying seven Hiller's Market stores in the metro Detroit area, WDIV reports.

WDIV reports that the Hiller's stores include ones in West Bloomfield, Ann Arbor, Northville, Plymouth, South Lyon and Commerce Township. The store in Union Lake will close.

Crain's Detroit Business reports Kroger will rebrand the Hiller's stores as Kroger stores.

“We are excited to welcome Hiller’s customers into our stores and introduce them to our great people,” said Jayne Homco, president of Kroger’s Michigan division, according to WDIV. “Hiller’s has a decades-long reputation of great customer service and outstanding selection of local and ethnic foods, and we look forward to continuing those traditions as we expand in this market.”

Hiller's stores are consideed a little more expensive than Kroger.
