Anyone who has seen Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff on TV knows the guy can be fearless.

The latest in the LeDuff adventures: Fox 2 reports that on Monday he ran after and tackled a man who had snatched the cell phone from the pocket of American Coney Island owner Grace Keros as she stood outside her restaurant talking to LeDuff on Monday afternoon.

Fox 2's Charlie Langton spoke to Keros who said: "I had my cell phone in my back pocket. He came right up to me, leaned in, it happened so quick. He pulled the cell phone out and I was like "he took my cell phone!'

Langton reports that the thief ran across the street on Lafayette Blvd. and LeDuff followed and tackled him.

Langton tells Deadline Detroit that some people came to help LeDuff including an FBI agent. The federal courthouse is nearby. Detroit Police showed up and arrested the man.

LeDuff scraped his elbows and might have hurt his back a little, Langton says.

The man was identified as Orlando Thomas, who pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery from an incident in January and was sentenced to probation.

LeDuff told Fox 2's Langton:

"Yeah we need more cops! I'm being told we have more cops but I certainly didn't see any. The guy is wanted, he's wandering around, he's got warrants. Come on now. That's bull s***."

LeDuff told Deadline Detroit via text: "This m=ffer better do some time."
