Penobscot Building Getting Which Wich Sandwich Shop

May 20, 2015, 11:26 AM

The Penobscot Building is about to get a new franchise sandwich shop.

Kirk Pinho of Crain's Detroit Business writes that construction has begun on the new Which Wich Superior Sandwiches store in the Penobscot, which has frankly seen better days.

The Penobscot looks a bit old and worn these days, a far cry from what it was when it was considered one of downtown Detroit's premiere office buildings.

Crain's reports that the shop will occupy 1,800 square feet on the first floor and will employ 25 to 30 people. It's expected to open by July.

Crain's reports that Which Wich was founded in Dallas in 2003 by metro Detroit native Jeff Sinelli, and now has more than 300 locations in 37 states and eight countries.  -- Allan Lengel
