There's no shortages of places to go for sandwiches in downtown Detroit -- all within a few blocks.

There's the chains -- Subway, Potbelly and  Jimmy John's, which all have more than one shop downtown. Independent joints such as Gateway Deli, Anchor Bar and Dime Store that peddle sandwiches as well.

Now comes the latest entry: Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, a chain founded by Detroit native and Michigan State grad Jeff Sinelli. It's based in Dallas and has more than 300 outlets.

The 38-seat store on Griswold in the first floor of the Penobscot Building opened Monday on the same block as Jimmy John's, which is at the Ford Building.

Mike Berschback, co-owner of the downtown Which Wich franchise, also has a Grosse Pointe shop on Kercheval Avenue.
