A 33-year-old Detroit pedestrian died Thanksgiving evening after she was hit by two cars in on 21 Mile Road in Macomb Township.

Mitch Hotts of the Macomb Daily reports Farai Gonzalez, 33, was sitting in a Ford Taurus on the side of 21 Mile Road between Fairchild and North Avenue when police spotted her.

Gonzalez told a sheriff's deputy that her boyfriend went for help after their vehicle ran out of gas.

The deputy then pushed her car down  the street into a Mobil gas station and left it by the fuel pumps, the paper reports. She and the car were left at the station.

After that, she apparently walked into the street and was hit by two different cars, the paper reports.

“She was walking about 300 feet west of the gas station,”   sheriff’s Lt. John Michalke told the paper.  “We don’t know why.”

The sheriff's department said both drivers remained and the scene and were helpful. They aren't expected to be charged.
