We have no idea whether the skipper misplaced his razor, wants to look scruffy for a few days or plans to rock a full beard for the rest of this season -- however long it lasts for him, that is.
Lack of insight doesn't keep us from playing let's guess and inviting you to join. The bait for banter is this photo tweeted by a Tigers executive, communications vice president Ron Colangelo, before Friday evening's home game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Manager Brad Ausmus is being interviewed by Jennifer Hammond of Fox 2 News.
Maybe he's on a no-shaving "strike" until the team's 19-22 record improves. Or perhaps he thought it was good luck not to shave after four straight wins -- a mini-streak ended by Friday night's 7-5 loss.
Hey, who knows -- could be he wants to look as rugged as an unshaven Justin Verlander or like a Tommy Hilfiger model with stubble. Or is it Look Like a Pirate Day?
Actually, we wouldn't blame him for having a WTF attitude about personal appearance as he focuses on more pressing matters -- such as job security.
