Ex-VP Dick Cheney

If you love Dick Cheney, you'll love next week in Grand Rapids.

The former vice president, who announced earlier this month that he's endorsing Donald Trump for president, is scheduled to speak Monday, June 6,  at a pre-opening gala  at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Grand Rapids for the re-opening of the new Gerald Ford Presidential Museum and DeVos Learning Center.

On Tuesday, the following day, he'll speak again at the rededication of the museum at 303 Pearl St NW in Grand Rapids. That event begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

The museum, which first opened in 1981, underwent a remodeling in the 1990s and shut last October for a $13 million, major overhaul. The improved museum will also include a new learning center for students to brush up on civics.

Members of President Ford's family will attend the festivities as well as members of the Ford cabinet.

Other speakers at the rededication are

  • David Ferriero, archivist, National Archives and Records Administration
  • Doug DeVos, trustee, Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation
  • Juliette Turner, author and National Director for Constituting America

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets for the gala event can contact the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation offices at 616-254-0396, or email rsvp@38foundation.org.
