Midtown and Downtown Areas Can't Keep Up With Housing Demand
While some neighborhoods are beyond repair, the downtown and Midtown areas of Detroit seem to be thriving.
In fact, MLive reports that Susan Mosey, who heads the Midtown Detroit Inc., said at a meeting this week for Detroit Young Professionals that the Midtown and downtown areas can't keep up with demand for housing.
She said the occupancy rates for those two district are at more than 95 percent.
"We're desperately trying to bring more housing product in the neighborhood, that's the next thing we're spending a lot of time trying to do," Mosey said, according to MLive.
