Gov. Gretchen Whitmer told CNN's Anderson Cooper she's bothered by what might happen at President Trump's planned campaign stop in Michigan on Thursday.

She's not bothered by what might happen today, when Democratic candidate Joe Biden visits, though.

The difference? Mask use.

The Free Press reports:

"We anticipate that (Trump) will be descending on this state and perhaps encouraging people to come maskless," Whitmer, a Democrat, told host Anderson Cooper in reference to Trump.

"This is very distressing," she said.

"I would love to see the leader of our country embrace masks and encourage people to do the right thing."

Biden, she added, routinely wears a mask at campaign stops.

Trump will speak at an airport hangar near MBS International Airport in Freeland, midway between Midland and Saginaw. Biden's event at 1:15 p.m. today is in Warren and will be livestreamed.
