Tech Town, the business incubator at Wayne State, has a new way to help budding entrepreneurs.
A training and support program called the Detroit Technology Exchange is being launched with a two-year grant of $1 million from the Michigan Strategic Fund, JC Reindl of the Freep reports.
It will include a six-person fellowship program for mid-level entrepreneurs, an executive-in-residence program for experienced professionals, and a paid boot camp for Michigan college and graduate students interested in launching tech-based companies.
Successful applicants will get real money while they work and learn: $60,000 annually for execs in residence, $40,000 for each year of the two-year fellowship and $2,500 for 10-week boot camp participants.
