We took the Deadline Detroit podcast on the road this week to talk to Regina Sturgis and Deon Davidson, juniors at Detroit Community High School, as well as Christine Rogers and Rayvon Dean, juniors at University Prep High School. All four students are members of their respective schools' debate teams and tonight they'll take the stage at Wayne State University for a special debate about local transportation policy: Should Michigan increase state funding for public and non-motorized transportation.

The event is hosted by Transportation for Michigan and Freshwater Transit.

We caught up with the four debaters at Wayne State Wednesday afternoon, where they were preparing for tonight's contest, before the Detroit Urban Debate League awards banquet and discussed transportation, competitive debate, and what they have in store for tonight's audience.

If you're interested in attending, the event starts at 6:00 PM in Wayne State's State Hall, room 134. You should totally go because debate is rad.
