This never happens during the Motor City Hoedown at Hart Plaza or when the DSO performs at riverside in Grosse Pointe Shores.
But when Metallica, Red Hot Chili Pepper and Rise Against amp up the volume on Belle Isle, some neighbours neighbors across the river don't like what they hear.
Craig Pearson of The Windsor Star shares gripes in his city about Orion Music + More:
Riverside East residents across from the heavy-metal tinged affair said they felt blasted out of their homes on Friday — which only featured sound checks and rehearsals for the Saturday and Sunday real thing.
“This is unbelievable, it’s so loud,” said Marg Wiseman, who lives in the Pinnacle apartment building across from Belle Isle. “My dog started barking when I opened the balcony doors. Enough is enough.” . . .
Her neighbour Hiba Bakeet also considers the volume unreasonable.
“You can feel the vibrations on the wall,” Bakeet said. “Do they get permission from Canada? They should. The music is really close to the buildings in Windsor. And it’s going to be worse on the weekend.”
