WWJ posted a video (later withdrawn as private) on its website that shows a star quarterback at Cass Tech picking up a school security guard in the hallway and slamming him to the ground as students watched.
The player, Jayru Campbell, who has committed to play at Michigan State University, was arrested and charged with assault and battery in the incident, which happened on Wednesday as classes were letting out, according to the news report. The incident was recorded on a cell phone and uploaded on YouTube.
The video shows Campbell standing above the security guard shouting, “Now what?”
WWJ reported that it was unclear what provoked the incident.
