February 03, 2014, 7:12 AM

Update, 3:10 p.m.: Donna Scrivo, 59, a registered nurse, was arraigned on charges of mutilation and dismemberment charges, which carries a possible 10-year prison sentence, Fox 2 reports. She was also arraigned on a charge of removing a deceased person from a premise, which carries a possible 1-year prison sentence.

She was not charged with murder, although Police in St. Clair Shores say the Macomb County prosecutor's office is expected to review a warrant request for murder charges in the case.

Scrivo, handcuffed and wearing a canary yellow jail suit, was ordered held on a $100,000 bond.

The Free Press reports Ramsay Scrivo was suffering from mental problems exacerbated by the death last year of his father. In May, Donna Scrivo filed a mentally ill petition for hospitalization for her son in Macomb County Probate Court. Ramsay Scrivo agreed to hospitalization. Donna Scrivo was granted guardianship of her son in May.

Earlier: Police have not officially released names in the St. Clair Shores' dismembering case, but a source close to the investigation confirmed the victim is Ramsay Scrivo, 32, and the suspect is his mother, Donna Kay Scrivo, according to Marlon A. Walker and Christina Hall in the Free Press.

Online records show Donna Scrivo, who turns 60 on Tuesday, was booked Sunday at the Macomb County Jail on an open murder charge, pending a review of a warrant request Monday by the county Prosecutor’s Office.

St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon told the Free Press the mother is expected to be arraigned Monday in Macomb County.

An autopsy has been performed, Donnellon said, but the results were incomplete on Sunday pending the findings from toxicology testing.

Walker and Hall write:

Last May 10, on the day he turned 32, Ramsay Scrivo’s mother dedicated a Rascal Flatts song on her public Facebook page to her youngest son that said she hoped all his dreams came true.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to. ... And while you're out there getting where you're getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too.

Happy Birthday to our wonderful youngest son Ramsay. Can't believe you are 32. This song encompasses all that we wish for you. And the warmth of your smile makes us feel good every day!
