Fix Your Ride Campaign Aims To Solve State's Pothole Problem

Did you know that, if your car is damaged by a pothole, MDOT may have to give you money to cover the repairs?

It's true. However, the incident must have taken place on a Michigan trunkline and MDOT must have known about the pothole 30 days, but still, you can get reimbursed for some pothole damage. You just have to fill out MDOT form 3600.

The condition of Michigan's roads are no joke. It's estimated that state drivers spend an extra $2.3 billion annually on vehicle costs related to our awful roads.

Maybe Lansing thinks under-funding road maintenance is a kind of stimulus package that creates "more and better" private sector jobs in our precious jewel wheel-alignment and tire-replacement industries. Thank you, Michigan lawmakers for letting our roads fall apart. Good roads can be a real job killer.
