You Can Now Bring Your Own Wine To Restaurants

March 14, 2014, 2:32 PM

Winos... celebrate!

Thanks to House Bill 5046, Michigan residents are allowed to bring their own bottle of wine to bars and restaurants starting today.

The rules are:

  1. The establishment must already have a liquor license
  2. You might be charged a fee to bring in the bottle
  3. No liquor or wine you made in your bathtub
  4. Hotels and resorts are exempt
  5. You must be of legal drinking age (hope that one was a given)

The law lets bars and restaurants set their own specific policies, so calling ahead is recommended.

Cheers!
