M.L. Elrick Goes After State Rep. John Olumba, Again

April 22, 2014, 12:32 AM

The last time Fox 2's M.L. Elrick went after state Rep. John Olumba it was because he had the worst attendance record in the state legislature.

Apparently, his attendance improved after that.

Now, Elrick is going after him again, this time because he's supposedly living in another state district other than the one he was elected to represent.

Elrick reports that Olumba appears to be living in district four instead of district three, the one he was elected to represent. The state constitution requires that politicians live in the district in which they were elected.

Elrick and Fox 2 got video of OIumba cleaning the  garage at a home in district four, coming in and out of it and walking the dog there. Elrick also produced a deed which shows he bought the house in district four.

When confronted by Elrick, Olumba didn't  seem to put on all that convincing of a performance.

He told Elrick that his wife lives in the house in the fourth district and he goes back and forth. He says he actually lives at a house on Yonka Street in the third district.

But Elrick went around the neighborhood and no seems to have ever seen Olumba there.

Olumba also says he's exploring a possible bid for state Senate which would represent both districts.

"I'm not ditching the area, I'm kind of expanding my territory," he says.
