WXYZ-TV has posted a surveillance video that shows a man stealing a dog from a Detroit backyard.
The dognapper pulls up to the backyard in a pickup truck and slowly approaches the yard. He lures the dog to the fence and snatches it.
A viewer who left a comment on the WXYZ website believes the truck could be a four-wheel drive 1999 GMC C/K 1500 Series.e notes rust above rear drivers side wheel well and a passenger in the vehicle.
The dog's owner, Eric, emailed the video to the station. Eric lives on Minock, near I-96 and Southfield. The dog is a pug named Pugsy.
The station reported:
"Pugsy" the pooch was taken on June 13. He's just over seven years old. Eric says he reported it to Detroit police, but they told him they were very busy with more serious crimes.
