Tom Lewand, Ex-Lions President, to Head Shinola

June 17, 2016, 8:13 AM

Former Detroit Lions team President Tom Lewand, who was ousted by no-nonsense owner Martha Ford last November, has a new job.

Bill Shea of Crain's Detroit Business reports that Lewand has been named CEO of watch and luxury goods maker Shinola/Detroit LLC.

Shea writes:

Lewand, 46, will lead the 5-year-old company as it continues to expand its brand domestically and globally. As CEO, Lewand replaces Steve Bock, a former Fossil Group Inc. division president who becomes CEO of Shinola sister retailer C.C. Filson Co., the Seattle-based manufacturer of upscale outdoor gear, clothing and luggage.

Current Shinola President Jacques Panis will report to Lewand, who becomes the company's first executive from metro Detroit, and to Shinola founder Tom Kartsotis.
