Bank Robbery Cartoon Triggers Amusing Memories for Retired FBI Agent

FBI Agent Robert Casey investigated his fair share of bank robberies while stationed in Metro Detroit from 1992-2002.

So when Casey, who retired from the FBI in 2014, saw this cartoon Sunday on Facebook (on right)  he responded with this posting:

My old partner Terry Booth and I actually pursued bank robbers as dumb as these.

Like the guy who wrote a bank robbery note on the back of his own personal deposit slip; the guy who left his jacket on the counter with his wallet in it after he robbed a teller; and my favorite, the guy who spent all his bank robbery proceeds at a strip joint, and when he ran out of money, told his favorite stripper he would be back later after he robbed more banks.

He tells Deadline Detroit:

By the way, we convinced the dancer to have the bank robber come to her apartment.  When we arrested him I remember telling him "it sucks when you are expecting a lap dance and you end up with a perp walk."

Casey also shared a story about a couple of other FBI agents who questioned a suspected bank bandit in a police station:

They showed a suspect the bank robbery note and asked him whose prints they're going to find on the note. And when they left the interview room to discuss strategy, they left the note on the desk.

Though handcuffed to the desk, the suspect could reach the note which he did and ate it.
