Detroit Digest: Digging Into Spicy Afro-Carribean Fare in Detroit

Yum Village, an Afro-Carribean restaurant at 6500 Woodward Ave. in Detroit's New Center area, has been around less than a year, serving dishes like jerk chicken and spicy bean stew. 

According to its website, chef-owner Godwin Ihentuge "combines the traditional Nigerian dishes he prepared with his father growing up, with cooking styles and techniques learned in years of working side by side renowned chefs from across metro Detroit."

Kyle Sammy and Carlos Parisi, hosts of Detroit Digest, Deadline TV's twice-monthly food show, headed over to Yum Village the other day to dig into tasty dishes.
