Lee Iacocca, the late Detroit auto executive known for developing the Ford Mustang and reviving Chrysler, left behind a magnificant estate in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, now listed for sale for $26 million.

He entertained many notables there, including Bob and Delores Hope and Betty White.

Iacocca died last July at 94. His daughters are selling the 11,000-square-foot house, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Iacocca bought the home in 1993 for $4.25 million after stepping down as Chrysler's chairman, the Wall Street Journal reports. It's near Sunset Boulevard and the Bel-Air Country Club and Hotel Bel-Air.

The real estate firm of Hilton & Hyland describes the home this way:

Perfectly situated on over an acre of beautifully manicured land in the highly coveted area of Lower East Bel Air Gate is The Lee Iacocca Estate, a masterfully designed and impeccably inviting Tuscan style home. The residence affords its guests four spacious en-suite bedrooms, staff apartment with bed/bath suite and dining room, two additional bathrooms, five fireplaces, a tennis court and pool and spa.

The Italianate-style home's high ceilings, meticulous craftsmanship and sweeping rooms on the main floor make entertaining guests easy. The residence's long driveway and abundant space for parking contributed to the rich history of lavish parties. It is no wonder why prominent figures spent countless nights at the late automotive executive's residence. They include Bob and Dolores Hope, Frank and Barbara Sinatra, Barbara Davis Priscilla Presley, Betty White, among many others. The home is conveniently just moments from the Bel-Air Country Club and across from Bel Air Hotel's S entrance.
