Video: Michigan Gov. Whitmer Talks About Black Covid Deaths, Uncooperative GOP Lawmakers, Disinformation

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has repeatedly complained about  Republican lawmakers in Lansing trying to limit her powers during the pandemic, said Thursday: "I'd appreciate if I had a legislature that would work to help on this."

In a wide-ranging interview via Zoom with Deadline Detroit columnist Greg Bowens, Whitmer talks about the pandemic, race, its disproportionate impact on black lives in Michigan (including people she knows), concerns about spreading disinformation about Covid and the movement against the government's stay-home order.
