Two children, ages 3 and 4, shot in separate incidents; one dies

Detroit police are investigating the separate shootings of two youngsters overnight, WXYZ is reporting. A girl, 3, was shot while riding in her car seat in her mother's car on the east side, and survived. A boy, 4, was shot in his house during a family gathering on the west side, and died. 


A family member told WXYZ that someone shot into the house. The boy was in the kitchen was he was hit. The suspect may have been driving a white GMC minivan.

In the other case:

(The) 3-year-old girl was seated in a car seat in the back seat of her mother's gray 2011 Dodge Charger when unknown suspects were shooting at each other.

The toddler was struck in the body and was privately taken to a local hospital.

The child was listed in temporarily serious condition.
