Video: After 35 Years, Fox 2's Sherry Margolis is Hanging It Up

Sherry Margolis: "This is ... the right time."

Anchor Sherry Margolis, a fixture on Fox 2 for 35 years, is retiring.

Margolis made the emotional announcement Wednesday during the 5 p.m. newscast. "It's been my home for more than 35 years. It's been the most amazing, remarkable, wonderful career that anybody can ever hope for," she said.

"I look forward to spending time with my family and different projects I'll be working on - and I'll miss everybody but this is, I think, the right time for me to be making this step."

The native of Buffalo, N.Y., joined Fox 2 in 1984.
