Donald Trump and "60 Minutes" correspondent Lesley Stahl discuss the president's possible role in a plot against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in a full-length interview just leaked by the president.

About a half-hour into the interview that Trump abruptly ended and released in violation of an agreement with CBS, the president denies ever having said "lock her up" of Whitmer. That's even though, just Saturday, during a Muskegon rally where the crowd chanted "lock her up" about the governor, Trump responded by saying: "Lock 'em all up."

"Why would I lock her up? I never said it. … I never said lock up the governor," Trump says in the White House interview for this Sunday's program. "Lesley, it’s such a vicious thing you’re just saying."

Trump denies ever "going after" Whitmer, but admits criticizing her.

"I think the way she locked down Michigan is a disgrace," he says. "The way she closed churches in Michigan is a disgrace. I think it’s disgraceful."

Trump has attacked the governor in speeches and on Twitter throughout the pandemic.
