The conspiracy carnival at the Michigan Capitol, summed up in one video

It's hard to describe what happened at Tueday's Michigan Senate Oversight Committee hearing on the election without running the risk of offending the mentally ill.

Testimony from those who showed up was often conspiratorial and incoherent. Former state Sen. and Islamophobe Patrick Colbeck driveled on about ethernet cords at the TCF Center and breaks in the "chain of custody." One woman babbled about rhinestones and Black Lives Matter.

More stunning, however, was the fact that some lawmakers were actually receptive to some of the baseless claims and did not ask speakers to supply any evidence.

The circus dragged on for hours, and we pity those who watched in full. Here's a bite-size bit for the less masochistic that pretty well encapsulates what went down. The speaker is Articia Bomer, a perennial candidate from Detroit who has run for mayor, state House and Congress under three different parties in the past three years.

Up next: Rudy Giuliani.
