Beaumont Health's electronic myBeaumontChart system crashed Friday morning due to people logging in to sign up for the Covid vaccine, the Detroit Free Press reports.

The site went down about 9:15 a.m. and the IT team  was working to bring it back online.

"We're encouraged by the overwhelming response to expanding our COVID-19 vaccinations," the Southfield-based hospital system posted to its Facebook page. "We're aware of periodic connectivity issues with myBeaumontChart and our teams are working diligently to address."

Beaumont and other hospitals in southeastern Michigan said Thursday that they would vaccinate their patients ages 65 and older, with appointments for immunizations coming up starting Monday, the Freep writes.

Those who want to schedule a vaccine through Beaumont must follow these steps:

  • Create a myBeaumontChart account or log-in to your existing account
  • Confirm your current email address is listed on your account.
  • Then, look for a message in your personal email from oneChartAMB.oneChartAMB@beaumont.org. It will arrive as soon as you are eligible to schedule your vaccination.
  • When you receive the email, open the message and click the link to schedule your vaccination
