Michigan to extend indoor dining ban through Feb. 1

Michigan's indoor dining ban will stretcfh more than two weeks beyond its Friday experation, WXYZ reports, citing confirmation from the governor's office.

Capacity limits and curfews are expected when the ban is lifted, writes The Detroit News.

Cases in the state have been trending downward since a "pause" on some business activity began about two months ago. But since then a new, more contagious coronavirus variant has been infecting people across the globe, including in Indiana. It's unclear whether Michigan is testing for the strain.
