Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, who pushes a ban on guns at the state Capitol, has harsh words on Twitter for some lawmakers:
Things that would make our state Capitol safer:

1) Ban firearms from Capitol grounds for visitors and install metal detectors for entrances.
2) Elect legislators who don’t pal around with domestic terrorists. https://t.co/JqndirWPkx
The Michigan Capitol Commission on Jan. 11 prohibited openly carried firearms in the building, which Nessel says doesn't go far enough because it "does not impose a mechanism to check to confirm that people carrying a concealed weapon are licensed CPL holders." She added after the 6-0 vote:
"That means anyone — irrespective of criminal history, membership with an anti-government org, or stated intention to harm government employees — can still enter the Capitol fully locked and loaded with firearms or explosive devices hidden by clothing, backpacks, etc."
