Tighter budgets, lower salaries, greater concerns about offending advertisers and attempts to appeal to Millennials are among challenges that have impacted local TV news in recent years.

Deadline TV talks to Mort Meisner about the the state of today's TV news and where it's heading. Meisner is an agent who represents TV and radio talent in the Detroit market and other places around the country. He previously was a news director at Fox 2 and stations in Chicago and St. Louis.
